During her time with the group and being a telepath, she attracted a cosmic being known as "he phoenix" who controled Jean's body during the "Phoenix Saga" and "Dark Phoenix Saga". But the entity everyone thought was Jean during this time in fact wasn't Jean at all. It was a third clone of Jean to house phoenix for a time. the real Jean was in a pod at the bottom of the Jamica Bay where she was found by the Avengers and released by the Fantastic 4 a year later after the clone was destroyed. After a while both Scott and Jean were thrown into a time warp where her daughter was the phoenix, wen they returned Jean took on the name once again in memory of her. |
